Hello everyone, this is the story behind the ice ring 63 RT — Dry Studio's full-metal 65% magnetic gaming keyboard.
When we first teased it, the planetary gearset knob immediately caught people's attention. Before diving into the specs and performance, we want to share what drove us to build it in the first place.
The Rise of Magnetic Keyboards
Magnetic keyboards have grown significantly in popularity in recent years, and for good reason.
Unlike traditional mechanical keyboards, magnetic keyboards use Hall effect sensors within their switch mechanisms to register inputs. This allows for sub-millimeter actuation precision, per-key customization, and features like Rapid Trigger — capabilities that give competitive players a measurable edge. For FPS gamers in particular, the ability to counter-strafe with 0.01mm accuracy changes how the keyboard feels at a fundamental level.

What Our Community Told Us
Before designing the ice ring 63 RT, we worked closely with our community to understand exactly what they wanted from a magnetic keyboard. Three key needs kept coming up:
1. Full metal build Most popular magnetic keyboards — including those from Wooting — are made from plastic. Our users expect the premium touch and feel they associate with Angry Miao and Dry Studio products. A magnetic keyboard had to be built from full metal.
2. Compact layout The Black Diamond 75 RT is a full-metal magnetic keyboard, but its 75% layout takes up considerable desk space. For FPS players who need maximum mouse room, that's a real tradeoff. We needed something more compact.
3. Portable and lightweight Gamers are attached to their gear and want to take it everywhere — including their keyboard. Whatever we built had to be small and light enough to carry without thinking twice.

How the ice ring 63 RT Answers All Three
With those three priorities in mind, we set out to design the ice ring 63 RT.

Full Metal, No Seams
To achieve maximum structural integrity without seams or visible screws between the top and bottom covers, we pressed the entire case using a 160-ton cold casting press. The result is a true aluminum alloy unibody — sturdy, elegant, and seamlessly curved.
This makes the ice ring 63 RT one of the most comprehensive full-metal keyboards in its price range.

Compact 65% Layout
The ice ring 63 RT uses a 65% layout, preserving dedicated arrow keys while keeping the footprint minimal. It gives FPS players the desk space they need for wide mouse movements, without sacrificing the keys that matter most.
0.74kg — Light Enough to Take Anywhere
Despite being all-metal, the ice ring 63 RT weighs just 0.74kg. It's sturdy enough to stay planted during the most intense sessions, and light enough that carrying it in a bag is never a second thought.

Available Now — Starting at $129
The ice ring 63 RT launched on April 14, 2025, and is available now in four colorways: Silver Orbit, Starburst Orange, Deepspace Titan, and Moonshadow.
